Summer in Pictures Part 4

Around 2:00pm, Friday we arrived at Grandpa & Grandma's.

It felt so good to be done driving, and get a big hug
from Grandma.

Happy Grandpa.

Sabbath, after Church and a good meal we went for
a hike to the old quarry.

Little 2nd cousin.

2nd cousins
throwing rocks into the quarry.

The day was topped off by Uncle Stacey
& Aunt Amy coming over.

Quite a few of our family were there.
It was good to see them again and meet Uncle Arlin,
If I'd met him before I didn't remember.

The next morning drug by slowly but finally
we got to go pick up My Sisters from the airport!!!

They were so tired but managed to keep their
eyes open till bed time.

We enjoyed the rest of the day at Uncle Jerry &
Aunt Amanda's house.

Summer in pictures Part 3

The summer didn't drag on for ever though,

In the middle of August we headed out to Colorado.
Thursday morning after being delayed in town
(we kept meeting people we hadn't seen for a while)
we were off!

Maybe not the wisest thing to do with a van
that had acted up before.

It wasn't! as we soon found out.

LONG story short, the heat had something to do with our van trouble.
Though it wasn't vapor lock, or just plane over heating
some valve or something. :)

We ended up having to stop every 20-30 min. for 30 min.
After the van cooled down it would drive fine for 20-30 min.
then it would quit. and we would have to coast till
we could find a place to pull over than wait...
this happened all day in the heat (probably 105` F).

And so the sun set.
And we were still some where in Idaho.

A night worth of driving lay ahead.

The night...
I won't even try to explain.

But when the morning came we were somewhere in
the middle of nowhere.
.

It was cool enough that day that the van did'nt act up
for a while.

Getting some much needed sleep.
the back seat was wonderful to sleep on.

Faithful driver!

A little while before noon it got warm enough
that the routine started over again.

Talk about a lesson in pacience!
a how God worked through our problem!!!

One miricle (shown in this picture)
where we coasted up hill to a pull out
after the van had quit, stopping about 20 ft.
from the gard rale.

Yes the Lord was so good to us  in this trial.

We had hoped to bring these roses from our
garden to Grandma but the heat had it's way.
